Is there a universal recipe for quince liqueur? How to make quince liqueur at home? The basic recipe is very simple. To modify it, simply add herbs such as cloves, allspice, ginger, or cinnamon, or lemon or orange peel to the jar along with sugar.
To prepare quince liqueur, you will need:
- 1 kg quince
- 0.5-1 liter of spirit or vodka (the stronger the alcohol, the faster the liqueur will be ready)
- 200-300 g sugar
Wash the quince thoroughly, dry it, and cut it into pieces. The seeds can remain inside – they contain pectins that positively influence the final aroma. Place the cut fruits in a clean glass jar. Cover them with sugar, then pour alcohol over them – enough to completely submerge the contents of the jar in the liquid. Seal the container tightly and place it in a warm place for 3-4 months. Shake the jar occasionally to combine the ingredients. After this time, strain the liqueur through a sieve or cheesecloth, separating the fruits from the drink. Pour the alcohol into a carafe and cork it, and place the fruits in a jar. Store in a dark and cool place.
