Serving wine is a ritual. It is not only a matter of savoir-vivre, though: it is also how you get the best from the bottle. Wine is worth pouring into the right carafe before it reaches the table, and red and white call for different ones. A carafe for red wine should let the wine circulate air, since red varieties need more oxygen. For white, a stoppered carafe is the better choice, rounded at the bottom and tapering towards the top. Why? Too much air does white wine no favours, and a closed vessel keeps its taste and aroma for longer. The Krosno range covers carafes for white wine and models made for serving red.
Wine decanters
You can also reach for a wine decanter. A carafe made for decanting has a job of its own. Decanters widen sharply towards the base, so more of the wine meets the air, releasing its aroma and its taste. Wine in a carafe or a decanter shows its colour at once and invites the first taste. A decanter is not only for serving: it aerates the wine, and that is what its distinctive shape is for.
Wine carafes from KROSNO
A KROSNO wine carafe is a fixture of any home bar. The range holds carafes for white wine and for red, along with wine decanters in various shapes and capacities. Some are made for aerating wine, others for keeping it in the traditional way. Some models come with a stopper or a glass lid, so the wine can stand on the table for longer; others are open. Every carafe and decanter is made by hand from the finest clear glass, which gives them their quality and their looks. The range also includes ready-made sets, and a carafe with wine glasses is a gift set for anyone who loves wine. An elegant carafe with wine glasses also makes a well-judged present for a move to a new home. It works as a wedding gift for a newly married couple too.

To keep glass clear, bright and looking its best, it is worth reading the care guidelines linked below. Before first use, wash the piece in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, then dry it with a soft cloth. In everyday use, avoid sudden changes of temperature. Do not heat glass above 60°C or chill it quickly. Avoid differences greater than 35°C. Never use these products in a microwave, an oven or a freezer. If a piece is dishwasher safe, choose a glassware programme and use mild detergents and rinse aids. Load the items so that they do not touch. When the cycle ends, take the glass out and let it dry naturally. Larger pieces such as carafes, vases and cake stands are best washed by hand.
Not every product is dishwasher safe. You will always find this information on the product page or on the packaging. The symbol there shows whether a piece is suitable for automatic dishwashers. In most cases, undecorated glassware can go in the dishwasher.
You may return an order within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason. Once you have notified us, return the product within 14 days, packed securely for transport. The cost of return postage is borne by the customer, unless the applicable regulations state otherwise.
Hand-formed glass is made by experienced master glassmakers who have carried the craft forward for generations. Each piece owes much to human work — from shaping the form to giving it its final character. That is what makes hand-formed glass distinctive, finely detailed and unlike anything else. Every piece has an individual character and a value of its own, while remaining remarkably consistent. Machine production relies on advanced glass-forming technology that delivers high precision, repeatability and efficiency, using top-class machinery. At Krosno Glass we use Blow-Blow technology, which allows us to create elegant pieces of consistent quality. We also use the finest premium lead-free crystal, which gives perfect clarity and durability, and resists clouding.
