Nowadays, they are also less frequently covered by net curtains and curtains, as many people opt for blinds instead. They therefore provide an additional space that can be decorated, thus introducing an elegant accent into the interior.
Often the best idea for windowsill decorations are flowers in beautiful pots. However, if the window is not too sunny and there is a lot of space, it is worth considering additional ornaments. They are easy to prepare at home using glass vessels! How to create them yourself?
Winter garden
Regardless of which direction the window faces, there are some flowers that are generally indifferent to it. These are succulents - plants that can survive in any conditions. Thanks to their small size, low maintenance, and evergreen nature, you can create many natural and ecological ornaments from them by combining them with glass. How to do it?
To prepare minimalist windowsill decorations, you will need glasses, e.g. from the KROSNO Splendour collection, or small vases. The vessels should be thoroughly washed, preferably in a dishwasher, or disinfected and dried. Small decorative stones should be poured onto the bottom - the roots of the chosen succulent should be placed among them. The next layer should be made of crushed activated carbon, and finally garden soil. On top, you can also pour another additional layer of pebbles or, for example, seashells, dried coffee beans, pieces of wood, beads and pearls, or other decorative elements. The plants only need to be watered once a week by spraying the leaves with water.
If you have more space for windowsill decoration or want to create a uniquely creative garden full of diverse succulents or air plants, you can repeat the same process in a larger vessel. Simple, rounded or multi-section bowls will be ideal for this. In properly arranged layers - provided the place is well-lit - miniature potted plants will also grow perfectly in such a micro-garden in glass. You can also place stones imitating rocky mountains, pieces of moss and lichens resembling meadows, pieces of wood or pine cones on top.
Evergreen decorations
Glass vases can also be a beautiful windowsill decoration.
