Ways to Make Glasses Sparkle

Ways to make your glasses sparkle - KROSNO blog

Aside from having the right shape, suited to the type of beverage served, wine glasses should feature a beautiful shine. Unsightly streaks and scratches on glass, which can appear with improper cleaning, are something we can avoid. Are you looking for ways to make your glass sparkle beautifully, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the beverage served in it? We encourage you to read our guide.

Manual glass washing

A traditional and reliable method for immaculately clean and sparkling glass is hand washing. Warm water, dish soap, and a sponge that absorbs moisture well, with an appropriate surface, are the three essential items when washing these types of dishes. Cleaning glasses in circular motions will effectively remove dirt, especially if done with the rough side of the sponge. However, it's important to ensure it's not too hard, as vigorous cleaning with a harsh material can cause scratches that cannot later be removed. If dried limescale or residue has appeared on the glasses, you can use a homemade method from mothers and grandmothers, which will make the glass look like new in just a few minutes. Simply wipe them thoroughly with a towel soaked in vinegar or wrap them in it for a few minutes. This is a proven method for removing limescale, and it will also restore the glass's original shine. Don't forget to rinse the dishes thoroughly to eliminate the characteristic smell of vinegar. Using a glass drying rack is also a good idea, as it minimizes streaks appearing on the glass. The next step to achieving a satisfactory result is polishing. Thorough, yet gentle cleaning with a damp cotton or microfiber cloth is a simple and reliable way to achieve sparkling, streak-free glass.

Washing wine glasses in a dishwasher – is it possible?

Glassware, especially delicate pieces, should not be washed in a dishwasher, as high water temperatures can lead to them becoming dull. This rule should be followed, especially for crystal and hand-decorated glass, which should be washed in warm (never hot!) water and rinsed in cold water with a splash of vinegar. Our collection includes products that must be hand-washed and those that are dishwasher-safe – you'll find washing instructions on the packaging. If you opt for automatic cleaning, remember to use gentle detergents and ensure proper placement of the glasses. They should be placed stem-up so that the bowl rests on the designated pegs. The best place will be the upper rack of the appliance. Additionally, you can skip the drying function and, immediately after the cycle is finished, remove the dishes and polish them yourself with a dry cloth. Special glass polishers are also available on the market, which are used specifically for mechanical washing.

Carefully polished glass that glistens beautifully in both daylight and candlelight will be a true adornment to the table, emphasizing the specialness of moments spent together at family dinners, during gatherings with friends, or dinners for two. Elegant, streak-free glasses demonstrate attention to detail. The tableware can also be enhanced with decorations such as glass candle holders and vases with fresh flowers. You can also venture into creating imaginative decorations from dried flower petals, stones, acorns, and pinecones, which – placed in stylish glass bowls or platters – will look magnificent surrounded by nobly shimmering glasses.
