Decorating your home for Christmas is extremely important. Beautiful ornaments, not just for the Christmas tree, contribute to the magical atmosphere of Christmas. We present ideas for handmade Christmas decorations, using glass ornaments and tableware from the Krosno brand.
Christmas decorations in glass offer many possibilities to choose from
Christmas ornaments can be placed not only on the Christmas tree. The most common solutions are wreaths, garlands, and very diverse Christmas window and wall decorations. The internet is also full of unusual, inspiring ideas for creating your own Christmas decorations, both those rich in colors and patterns, and more minimalist ones. An integral part of Christmas is also beautiful glass tableware and elegant glass ornaments that can be placed in various parts of the house or apartment. Hand-made, highly polished glass will in itself be a stylish table decoration. For those who would like to add more Christmas spirit to their home decor, we have prepared some ideas on how to make glass dishes, such as candle holders, vases, bowls, cake stands or plates, even more festive decorations.

Candlesticks are ideal home decorations for Christmas
The glow of candles will definitely add magic to the Christmas atmosphere. Especially if the candles are placed in hand-formed glass candlesticks by KROSNO, made of perfectly clear glass, adorned with handmade Christmas decorations. The first original idea for such a Christmas decoration for the home is a winter candlestick with artificial snow. Artificial snow can be made very simply yourself – just mix baking soda with shaving foam in a bowl (in proportions of roughly 100g to 30ml), and then place most of the white mixture inside the candlestick. It is also worth decorating the top part of the candlestick, for example with a several-centimeter wide piece of decorative tape secured with a rubber band, and further decorating the whole with a pinecone or a small fir branch, then sprinkling with artificial snow. Another interesting Christmas ornament will be a candlestick filled with materials used for making Christmas wreaths, mostly natural ones. Inside, you can place, for example, coniferous branches, moss, pinecones, pieces of birch bark, and possibly small baubles and other Christmas tree ornaments. Remember that the candle should be firmly secured, and its flame should visibly protrude above the Christmas decorations – safety first! Candlesticks can also be easily decorated externally. Taller models, where decorative elements are placed only at a selected height of the candlestick, will work best for this purpose. This could be bark with a small branch, tied with twine, a piece of fabric with a pattern, or simply an aesthetic ribbon with a Christmas motif.
Vases as Christmas decorations
Beautiful vases in various shapes can also serve as Christmas home decorations. Vases can be decorated in a very simple way without using techniques such as decoupage, which would permanently alter the vase. The possibilities here are similar to those for external candlestick decoration. However, a vase can also become an ingenious Christmas decoration! Instead of flowers, the vessel will be filled with simple, handmade ornaments. One of the more interesting and original ideas is snowman heads made from ping-pong balls. The balls should be decorated, for example, with pink glitter (cheeks) and colorful markers (black for the mouth, silver for the eyes, and orange for the nose), and the top of the head can be made from Christmas tree hangers tied with twine. You can also create easy Christmas decorations in a vase by placing colorful baubles, Christmas tree ornaments, or pieces of Christmas garlands inside the clear glass. Natural Christmas decoration in glass with lights inside
An interesting Christmas decoration for your home or apartment can also be a glowing composition in glass. It will look best in a large glass bowl or dish with an interesting shape and optical effects. Simply place coniferous branches, pinecones, and battery-powered lights inside the vessel. The composition can be complemented with other items used for making Christmas wreaths (e.g., small baubles and other small Christmas tree ornaments, ribbons, crab apples, walnuts, acorns, or fruits). Such a glowing Christmas decoration will look beautiful on a cabinet, windowsill, or table.

Cake stands and plates with Christmas decorations
Christmas decorations can also be placed on tableware made of transparent glass, especially elegant cake stands or decorative plates, on which cakes and desserts will be served during Christmas Eve. The simplest method is sugar decorations, created on a similar principle to the crust on the rim of a cocktail glass, i.e., using lemon juice. Making stars or snowflakes on the edges of plates or on the top part of the cake stand's dome is, however, a bit more difficult, so it will be helpful to first create a template (from cardboard or thick paper). The cut-out template should be placed in the desired location, then the inside of the template should be gently moistened with lemon juice, and then thoroughly sprinkled with sugar. Another idea is a Santa Claus cake stand, hiding delicious sweets, with a hat and beard. The beard on the outer, side edges of the cake stand can be made from cotton wool glued to the glass, and Santa's hat, placed on the knob of the cake stand's dome, can be made from red and white fabric secured with a rubber band in a suitable color. Santa hats for bottles or cutlery, which can be bought in many stores, will also work very well. Such Christmas table decorations will surely delight your guests.
