Kids' glasses - what to look for when choosing

What are the best glasses for small children? What to choose? - KROSNO blog

"In the red one! No, the one with the fish! I don't want that one, I want the one with cars!" – such indecisiveness in choosing a glass for a child is an everyday occurrence for many parents. Little ones have their favorite dishes, but their taste sometimes changes literally overnight! To encourage them to drink water, freshly squeezed juices, or smoothies, it's worth being patient and giving them a choice – even if it takes a while. What glassware will be not only attractive but, above all, safe for them?

Children's habits

Little ones very quickly turn various activities into habits, and they can develop surprising affection for specific objects! All clothes in only one color, playing only with a specific, beloved toy, or only a particular dish from which drinks taste perfect – this is the essence of daily life with a preschooler. Unfortunately, most often unexpectedly for the parent, this love disappears or changes in the blink of an eye, and after a great attachment to excavators, the child is only interested in space after waking up, and switches from red to blue.

To be prepared for any occasion, it's worth having various versions of basic everyday items in your kitchen. Glasses for children are a good example – there's nothing to stop you from having ones with birds and fish, green flowers and yellow zigzags in the cupboard. This way, the little one will have a wide selection of novelties when their beloved dish is abandoned overnight!

Not just fairy-tale themed

Among products for children, those featuring cartoon characters are dominant. No wonder – they attract the attention of little ones because they recognize them. However, this doesn't mean that only a dog or a rabbit from a beloved series will be accepted by the preschooler on a dish!

Printed glasses with colorful patterns – abstract, cartoonish, nature-inspired, etc. – will work just as well! They stimulate imagination, inspire the telling of action-packed children's stories, and can quickly become favorites. Moreover, this makes it easier to match an entire set, for example, to the theme of a birthday party or other children's event.

Glass vs. plastic

Many parents, concerned about children's safety, shy away from using glass dishes in favor of plastic ones. However, a child's glass made of certified glass with appropriate parameters is a much better choice than a plastic cup!

Growing ecological awareness is also reflected in purchasing decisions concerning children. Reducing the amount of plastic and synthetic materials can be achieved not only by opting for wooden toys or buying clothes made of organic cotton. A smart less waste action is also investing in high-quality glass dishes, including those for the youngest. Contrary to appearances, this is also not a less safe option!

Glass and safe

When choosing colorful glasses for the youngest, it's worth opting for those made of thicker glass. A round shape with a not-too-wide diameter will, in turn, prevent the contents from spilling. Smaller ones, with a volume of up to 200 ml, will also be better.

In addition to dishes with animal or plant motifs, it's good to have small capacity glasses made of clear, transparent Crystalline glass in your kitchen. This is an excellent option for serving children, for example, colorful smoothies or drinks with fruit pieces. With their innate curiosity, they will be able to observe the colors, the milky foam that sometimes forms at the top, or the bubbles from carbonated water!

A small sip from a grown-up glass

Because glass is heavier than plastic, learning to drink from them is a bit more challenging and requires greater precision and better coordination. Nevertheless, many parents quickly give up plastic cups, offering their children a choice of high-quality colorful glasses. This brings benefits – contrary to appearances, little ones quickly adapt to this change and become proficient in drinking from "adult" dishes without spilling the contents on themselves. Despite the fears of grandmas and grandpas, they also do not test the laws of gravity on them, or they give up after the first failed experiment!

KROSNO colorful glasses, unlike plastic dishes, do not affect the taste of the drink consumed from them and do not get discolored by intensely colored juices. Durability and practicality are further advantages that every parent will surely appreciate amidst the hustle and bustle of daily tasks!
